    CRITERIA

The CIVIC Executive Program is designed specifically for senior, enterprise-level leaders whose roles influence organizational strategy, people, and community impact at the highest levels.

Candidates should typically bring 15+ years of professional or volunteer skills-based experience, with priority given to individuals currently serving in or operating at the level of:

    • C-Suite Executives (CEO, COO, CFO, President, Executive Director, or equivalent)
    • Senior Corporate Officers or Business Unit Leaders
    • Nonprofit Executive Directors/CEOs of established organizations
    • Public Sector agency heads or senior appointed officials
    • Military Officers at the rank of O-6 or above

Ideal participants are those who shape organizational direction, lead large teams or divisions, steward significant resources, and influence systems beyond their own organization.

For information about the nomination process or the upcoming class, please email executiveprograms@civichr.org.

    Selection Process

The nominating committee, composed of members of previous CIVIC classes, will meet to review the recommendations. Each class is comprised of a cross-section of leaders from the business, education, military, cultural and non-profit communities. CIVIC also has a strong commitment to geographic, ethnic, and gender diversity.

New classes are announced in September. The deliberations of the nominating committee are confidential, and its decisions are final. Candidates who are recommended, but not selected for a given class year, may be reconsidered for nomination in future years.

Candidates who accept the invitation must be committed to attending all program days and events for the duration of the program.  If the candidate is unable to attend more than one event during the program year, we kindly ask that they defer their participation in the program to a time where they can attend all program days and events.
