About the Program
The CIVIC Scholars Program is a collaborative initiative between the CIVIC Leadership Institute, Old Dominion University, Regent University, Tidewater Community College, and Virginia Wesleyan University (soon to be Batten University). Our mission is to foster a spirit of civic engagement, professionalism, and leadership in exceptional, high-potential college students in Hampton Roads by connecting them with established business and community leaders to build a cohort of exceptionally prepared future leaders in our region.
CIVIC Scholars programming runs concurrently with the 9-month academic year and focuses on skills-based workshops, civic experiences, industry site visits, leadership growth, professional development opportunities, and exposure to regional leaders. Students engage with issues that Hampton Roads and other communities face and are challenged to think critically about possible solutions and innovations.
This collegiate-level leadership program is available to undergraduate students attending Old Dominion University, Regent University, Tidewater Community College, and Virginia Wesleyan University (soon to be Batten University).
